Reopening & Planning
UPDATED JULY 29, 2020
A Stronger Tomorrow Begins TodayWe remain committed to offering students the opportunity to safely return to school full-time in person this fall, as advocated by the American Academy of Pediatrics. However, recommendations and guidance relative to COVID-19 and the reopening of school have continued to change rapidly. Health and safety requirements set forth by the Pennsylvania Department of Education/Department of Health and the Allegheny County Health Department may prevent CVSD from making a full-time in-person return in August.
Therefore, the CVSD Reopening and Planning Taskforce has taken a proactive approach to planning for Fall 2020. We are able to provide families with options -- either in-person instruction or a robust remote learning program. With this, we will also be fully prepared to shift to hybrid or fully-online methods, should the state mandates and guidelines change.
As we work hard to adapt and prepare CVSD for this fall, one thing will remain constant - our commitment to providing a robust education while protecting the health and safety of all students and staff. We are calling on all members of our community to help build a safer, even stronger community!
