The tracker below contains information about COVID-19 cases at the Chartiers Valley School District. Active cases added to the dashboard will appear with the date the individual(s) tested positive, not necessarily the date the district has been notified of the positive case. The dashboard is comprised of the following categories:
Total Confirmed Cases - Cases in this section are individuals (CVSD students or staff) who are confirmed positive for COVID-19. Some or all of the active cases in this section may be individuals who have not been present in school buildings during their period of contagion.
Breakdown by School Building - Cases in this section are individuals (CVSD students or staff) who are presumed to have been in school during their period of contagion. The active cases here are the only counts used to determine what additional mitigation efforts may be enacted at a particular building.
Outside of School Buildings - Cases in this section are individuals that are presumed not to have been in school during their period of contagion and are not included in additional building mitigation calculations. (Example: CV Cyber student or hybrid student who has not been present in school for several days prior to the onset of symptoms). In the event of a building closure, positive cases listed under that building will move to the “Outside of School Buildings” count and the building case-count for that building will reset.
The District’s positivity rate is reviewed daily, and these cases are being watched closely for a nexus, or connection, to other active cases. The dashboard below is updated daily to reflect changes as new cases are reported to the District and the isolation periods for current cases expire.
The District works in collaboration with the Allegheny County Health Department to identify students and staff who may have had close contact (less than six feet for more than fifteen minutes) with individuals with a confirmed positive. Those affected will be contacted directly by CV Nurse Michele Opferman and/or the Allegheny County Health Department.
The individuals who tested positive, as well as those who have been in close contact, will not be present in school buildings for the duration of their quarantine, as directed by the Allegheny County Health Department.
We encourage you to continue watching your child/children closely for symptoms. As a reminder, if your child experiences any of the symptoms listed below, please contact Michelle Opferman, Nursing Department Head at 412-429-2269 or firstname.lastname@example.org, as well as your healthcare provider.

We are very appreciative of your attention to safety procedures and precautions of the Chartiers Valley School District, and your commitment to preserving our in-person educational pathway options.
