PMEA All-State Orchestra Participants

Mirra Rasmussen-Cello, Luke Pedersen-String Bass, Riley Fichtenmayer-Violin 2 will be participating in the PMEA All-State Orchestra April 3-6, 2019, in Pittsburgh at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. 

Guest conductor for PMEA All-State Orchestra is Daniel Meyer Music Director for the Erie Philharmonic, the Music Director Lakeside Symphony Orchestra, Artistic Director for the Westmoreland Symphony Orchestra and Director of Orchestral Activities for Duquesne University.

With exceptional energy and elegant expressivity, Daniel Meyer is recognized as one of the top conductors of his generation. 

As Music Director of the Asheville Symphony and Erie Philharmonic, Meyer has helped to reinvigorate the orchestras in both communities, enlivening the arts community with innovative programs and a dedication to create and sustain enthusiastic audiences for classical music. 

Daniel Meyer was Resident Conductor of the Pittsburgh Symphony and Music Director of the Pittsburgh Youth Symphony from 2003-2009. While there he worked closely with Manfred Honeck, Mariss Jansons, Sir Andrew Davis, and Charles Dutoit, led the Pittsburgh Symphony on tour, and conducted performances with Pinchas Zukerman, Sarah Chang, and Marvin Hamlisch as soloists. 

PMEA All State Festivals/Conference will be held in conjunction with the NAFME Eastern Division Conference.  

The PMEA All State Orchestra will perform on Saturday, April 6, 2019, in the Spirit of Pittsburgh Ballroom at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center,Pittsburgh, PA. For program and ticket information please visit www.pmea.org.
