The District’s transportation system uses each student's residence address to determine primary bus stop locations. Bus stops assigned for the upcoming school year will be determined based on primary residence information previously provided to Chartiers Valley School District.

If your address has recently changed, please contact the District Registrar, Kelly Mannering, at kmannering@cvsd.net to submit a change of address form and three acceptable proofs of residence.

In the past, a high volume of specialized transportation requests has complicated dismissal procedures, resulting in delayed bus departures and various safety concerns.  Reducing the number of specialized transportation changes allows us to better serve the families of Chartiers Valley.

In the interest of student safety and security, specialized transportation requests do not carry over from the previous school year.  In addition to your assigned primary stop, you may request ONE additional stop by completing a Specialized Transportation Request Form.  The additional stop must be located within the District and on an existing route.  Additional routes will not be established.

The District strives to maintain a safe, efficient and economical transportation system and therefore can not consider factors such as those listed below when approving specialized transportation requests.

  • parent/guardian/caregiver is not able to see child(ren) walking to/from bus stop or waiting at bus stop
  • child(ren) or parent/guardian/caregiver is involved in a neighborhood feud with nearby residents
  • there has been a change in parent/guardian/caregiver’s work schedule
  • parent/guarding/caregiver is not able to walk to/from the bus stop with the child

The granting of special transportation services is based on the disability or physical handicap of the child transported as required by the Pennsylvania Regulations at 22 Pa. Code 15.6 and 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.  The District shall not grant special transportation services to accommodate the disabilities or other circumstances concerning caregivers, siblings or other individuals.
