Please be advised that the guidelines prohibiting attendance at practices, contests, etc. is still in effect and will be enforced.  No parents should enter CV Stadium, Gymnasiums or other CV facilities to attend practice or pick up their child. All parents MUST remain in the parking lot and wait for their child's practice to conclude.

As we continue to monitor the ever-changing developments related to COVID-19, we will resume athletics and activities on Monday, July 13, 2020, in alignment with the Allegheny County Health Department’s new order issued on July 8, 2020 and our Athletics & Activities Return to Play Plan

Following the Governor's order limiting gatherings to 25 people or less, there will be NO athletic workouts the week of July 6-10, 2020.  We will continue to monitor all of the mandates/guidelines that are provided from the State or County officials.  Hopefully we will be able to return to play again on July 13.

JUNE 29, 2020 UPDATE
Due to recent developments in Allegheny County and with an abundance of caution, all coaches will wear face masks during workouts.  Also, all athletes will wear masks when entering and leaving Chartiers Valley campus/facilities.  Once workouts begin, athletes are permitted to remove their masks. We appreciate your diligence and understanding.

JUNE 16, 2020 UPDATE
As athletics and activities prepare for reopening July 1, we have designed a number of changes to provide students with an engaging and safe experience.
The CVSD Return to Play Plan below was shared during the CVSD School Board meeting on Tuesday, June 16, 2020.

Return to Play PlanSummer Practice and Participation Schedule
The summer 2020 athletics and activities calendar is now available on the District website here. This calendar is subject to change based on adjustments to local, state, and CDC guidelines. Prior to returning to play, coaches will conduct parent/athlete meetings (virtually or in person) to review all Chartiers Valley guidelines and procedures.

Personal Accountability
Parents should check their student athlete's temperature before each game, competition, or gathering. Students with a fever of 100.4 or higher or have symptoms of illness should stay home and contact their coach or adviser. Students exhibiting illness during practice will be sent home immediately. Medically vulnerable individuals at higher-risk for illness should communicate concerns and alternatives with coaching and/or athletic office staff. Individuals should practice regular and thorough hand-washing, especially before and after workouts.

Safety on our Fields and in our Facilities

Indoor gatherings are limited to 30 people, reduced depening on square footage of the room/facility. Up to 70 individuals may gather outdoors. Workouts will be conducted in small "pods" of the same students always working out together. Individuals should maintain a 6-foot distance between eachother when feasible. Use of locker rooms is not recommended. If use is necessary, coaches and athletes should practice social distancing.

All facilities will be cleaned and sanitized regularly using CDC-approved products. Plenty of hand sanitizer will be available throughout the facilities.

All students should bring their own water bottles and must not share with others. Hydration stations and water coolers will not be utilized, but disposable cups will be made available for those who forget their bottles.

Games and Competitions

Contests will allow for 50% maximum occupancy, including athletes, coaches, cheerleaders, bands, officials, and game day staff. The Athletic Department will monitor ticket sales and attendance. Depending on PA guidelines, it may be necessary to not allow any spectators and rather stream events via NFHS Network. Social distancing should be maintained on benches and in stands.
