Dear Parents and Guardians,
It is hard to believe that April marks one year since I officially began serving the Chartiers Valley School District. I am grateful for the incredible staff, students and families who have welcomed me with open arms. Over the past twelve months, I have been so impressed by the dedication and pride that runs deep within the Chartiers Valley community.
We sure do have much to be proud of! This year, the Dance Troupe placed 8th in the country, the girls basketball team won the state championship, and our music program was named one of the Nation’s Best Communities for Music Education. These accolades only skim the surface of the remarkable academic and extracurricular achievements of our students. This success would not be possible without the support from parents, families and the community.
As the conclusion of the 2018-2019 school year draws near, exciting springtime events fill the District calendar. We look forward to outdoor recess and picnics, spring sports and concerts, commencement activities, and of course testing – all of which are indicative of the hard work our students have committed to this year.
As you may be aware, Intermediate and Middle School students will begin standardized testing this week, with all exams concluding in early May. Please see the schedule provided by your child’s building administrator for more information.
For High School students, NOCTI testing also takes place in April, while Keystone, AP and course final exams occur in May. Please refer to the high school assessment schedule for these important dates.
If there are any questions please do not hesitate to contact your student’s principal or guidance counselor.
The next couple of months are sure to fly by, and before long, our students will head home for summer break and our seniors will be off to pursue post-secondary endeavors. Thank you for all you have done this year to support our students and the Chartiers Valley School District.
It is indeed a great day to be a Colt!
