Students Earn National Merit Honors for PSAT Scores

Andrew Windscheimer & Kara Joseph were recognized by the School Board for achieving Commended Level PSAT scores and National Merit honors. Nationally, 1.6 million students take the PSAT each fall; both Andrew & Kara scored in the top 50,000!  

Andrew scored a perfect 800 on the math portion of the SAT.  He maintains a 4.84 weighted GPA, and is a member of both the National Honor Society as well as the National Math Honor Society.  He is the team captain of CV's Hometown HighQ team which is set to compete this month.  Andrew plays on the Varsity Golf team and volunteers for the youth golf program The First Tee.  He was nominated to the Homecoming Court by his classmates.  Andrew plans to major in Statistics in college.  

Kara is enrolled in six Advanced Placement courses, maintaining a 5.26 weighted GPA.  She has competed on the Varsity Tennis team, and this year, as captain, lead the team to its first ever WPIAL team playoffs.  Kara is the president of National Honor Society and participates in the Spanish Club and Majorettes.  In college, Kara plans to study Environmental Chemistry and play tennis.
