Science classes attempt to solve landfill problem

Mrs. Whitaker with kids doing peanut project

Mrs. Whitaker's 7th grade science classes attempt to solve a landfill problem by creating degradable, non-toxic packing peanuts. This STEM challenge uses teamwork, trial and error, data collection, and problem-solving to create various packing peanuts using different variables. Once several formulas have been created, student teams analyze their results, determine their best products, and test them in shipping packages. Formulas of successful packaging peanuts will be recorded and offered as suggestions to packing and shipping companies. That means your future Amazon orders could be packaged with peanuts developed right here in C.V.M.S. science labs!
