Junior Cellist to play in Pittsburgh concert Society's 2018 Young Artists concert

Junior cellist Mirra Rasmussen and her fellow Cygnus Quartet members were among The Pittsburgh Concert Society's 2018 Young Artists Auditions winners. Mirra and The Cygnus Quartet will be featured at an April 8th concert at Kresge Recital Hall, College of Fine Arts, Carnegie Mellon University, at 2:00 pm. A "Meet the Artists" reception follows the concert.

Auditions were held on March 3, 2018 at Kresge Recital Hall, College of Fine Arts, Carnegie Mellon University. They were open to instrumentalists under age 19  and vocalists under 22 living or studying within a 75-mile radius of Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh Concert Society is pleased to announce that each of the recitalists will perform in a recital in addition to receiving an Anna and Benjamin Perlow Scholarship to help further his/her musical education. The adjudicator was Dr. Mitchell Arnold, Associate Professor and Director of Orchestra Activities at West Virginia University.
