PIMS Coordinator Jason Gardner recently completed coursework through the PDE data quality curriculum in the area of special education. The objective of the course was to increase data quality in the special education data collection realm. The course focused on the areas of compliance submissions, local requirements for special education and funding integral to student achievement and support. The course required 40 hours to complete. Pennsylvania Department of Education certification was granted to Mr. Gardner upon completion of the course.
According the the PDE's website, the Pennsylvania Information Management System (PIMS) is a statewide longitudinal data system for improving data capabilities by enhancing school districts' capacities to meet student-level data reporting requirements and provide robust decision support tools.
