The Chartiers Valley Board of School Directors accepted the resignation of Director Jamie Stevenson with two-plus years remaining on his term. Board President Mr. Mazzarini thanked Mr. Stevenson for his six years of valued service to the district. The board, under the provisions of Pennsylvania's school code, will consider its options of appointing a candidate to fill the opening through December 5, 2017 or waiting for interested candidates to file for the upcoming November election to complete the final two years of Mr. Stevenson's term.
The board also approved an agreement with Frosina Cordisco Consulting Services for a review of business department operations not to exceed 30 hours. Ms. Cordisco will continue to consult with the district for an additional term of not over 100 hours to assist with the implementation of her findings. Ms. Cordisco has decades of experience in both commercial and school business operations.
Mr. Seltzer complimented CVSD support staff in their effort to get the buildings ready for the opening of school. Mr. Mazzarini additionally praised the Technology and Maintenance departments for their diligence over the summer and specifically during the two weeks leading up to the opening of school.
