Primary School represented at Marathon Kids Summer Leadership Academy

Ms. Faith and Mrs. Territ

The Chartiers Valley Primary School was represented at the 2017 Marathon Kids Summer Leadership Academy in Austin, Texas.  Assistant Principal, Stephanie Faith, and 1st grade teacher, Shelley Territ, were chosen to become Marathon Kid Ambassadors and participate in this nation-wide conference. Ms. Faith and Mrs. Territ attended a day-long conference with educators, coaches, and advocates from Texas, California, Tennessee, and Illinois on July 19and shared their passion for keeping kids moving and happy through the after-school Kids of Steel running program. They also gained knowledge and skills to educate students on running, exercise, and promote overall wellness for the students, staff and community.

Mrs. Territ and Stephanie McFerron, a parent with children in both the Primary and Intermediate schools, are the leads for the Kids of Steel program. They hope to continue to work with administration to build this program in the upcoming year.
