Several teams of CVMS teachers and administrators presented seminars on best practice strategies at the Penn State Summer Pennsylvania Association of Middle Level Educators conference held at Mt. Nittany Middle School on June 26-27. Presenters included 8th grade teacher Ms. Ciaramella and 6th grade teacher Mrs. Moriarty (CVMS Colt Leaders: Students Leading Students), Principal Mrs. Floro and Spanish teacher Mr. Chatlak (Differentiated Models and Tools for Teacher Evaluation), Assistant Principal Mr. Lyons, PE/Health teacher Ms. Guarnaccio and 8th grade teacher Mrs. Holleran (No Place for Hate: Building an Anti-Bullying Inclusive Culture).

The above had also presented these seminars at the January 2017 regional PAMLE conference at Avonworth Middle School which led to their invitation to present at the state conference. Other CVMS presenters at the January conference included 8th grade teacher Mrs. Jensema and 7th grade teacher/Curriculum Leader Mr. Hildabrand (CVMS Rebranding Literacy), and Spanish teacher Mrs. Bautista (Making the Most of the Present Moment).

The professional culture at CVMS is one of life-long learning and growth. Active staff participation in local, state, and national professional educational organizations is an important part of our professional development as a school.
