Superintendent’s Report

Dr. Brian White, Superintendent, and Mr. Nick Morelli, Director of Finance and Operations, will present an overview of the district’s 2017-2018 budget at the May 23, 2017 School Board meeting.

 

Chartiers Valley School District is part of the Pittsburgh Personalized Learning Consortium. Hosted by the Grable Foundation, the Pittsburgh Personalized Learning Consortium includes educators from neighboring school districts who want to integrate personalized learning into their classrooms. In addition to Chartiers Valley, Avonworth, Baldwin-Whitehall, Burrell, Deer Lakes, Elizabeth Forward, Fox Chapel Area, Fort Cherry, Frazier, North Allegheny, Northgate, Steel Valley and South Fayette plan to participate. The Chartiers Valley Primary School has been accepted to participate in PaTTAN’s Statewide Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) Math Series as well as PaTTAN’s Statewide Tier 3 Problem-Solving Series! CVPS will represent the western region within our statewide cohort for both MTSS Math and Tier 3 Problem-Solving. In addition, the Primary School will receive $20,000 –  $10,000 for each – to participate in both the MTSS Math Series and the Tier 3 Problem-Solving Series.

 

The Chartiers Valley Intermediate School will host Family STEM Night as part of the region’s Remake Learning Days. Read more (Trib Live)>>

 

Chartiers Valley School District was recently featured in a Post-Gazette story, “Benedum Foundation funds the future through training initiatives.” Read more>>

 

Chartiers Valley High School student, Kayla Rennie, earned the PSMLA Global Scholar Honor.  She is the first CVHS student to achieve this distinction. Read more>>

 

The Chartiers Valley World Languages Program was also recently recognized by PSMLA as a recipient of a 2017 Golden Globe Award. Read more>>

 

Chartiers Valley’s position in the Pittsburgh Business Time’s Western Pennsylvania Rankings stayed consistent in 2017. CVSD improved three places in the Pennsylvania State rankings in 2017. View rankings>>

CVHS Robotics Team Demonstration

The Chartiers Valley Robotics Team demonstrated their robot at the May 9 School Board meeting. The team recently competed at the World Championships in St. Louis. Read more>>
