On Friday, May 5th, a large group of eighth grade girls learned what to expect from high school through a program called Girls’ Night Out!
The main goal of Girls’ Night Out, or GNO, is to promote self-esteem, unity and empowerment in freshmen girls before they enter high school. Senior Nicole Cain spearheaded the program in 2015 and 2016. GNO gives eighth grade girls the opportunity to discuss the pressures of high school life with current CVHS student volunteers. Through the use of team building activities the girls were able to better get to know each other and themselves.
HS volunteers included: seniors, Nicole Cain, Rachel Jacobs, and Marissa Parisi; juniors, Gabi Bauman, Cassidy Boyle, Lizzy Evans, Kaylee Gross, and Kait Kellington; sophomores, Calle Barrett, Kennedy Beasley-Watson, Becca Haines, Sara Haines, Haley Kumpf, and Sarah Smith; and freshmen, Sydney Jacobs, Valarie O'Neill, Stephanie Richardson, Ashley Stein, and Mia Welsh.
