The Chartiers Valley FIRST Robotics Team – Horsepower #4991 – recently competed in the FIRST Robotics World Championships in St. Louis.

“Our robot performed flawlessly throughout the competition,” said Mr. Jeff Macek, CVHS teacher and lead mentor for the team. “The students had a great time and learned a lot about what it takes to be a world champion FIRST team.”

Team Horsepower competed among 400 teams from 33 different countries. Although the team did not make the playoffs for their division, it was still a great experience for everyone.

Although the FIRST Robotics World Championships may have past, the season isn’t over for Team Horsepower. They qualified for the WOW Championship (Western/Central PA-Ohio-West Virginia) which will be held at the Rike Center at Otterbein University in Ohio on May 27. Team Horsepower is currently ranked 6th of 88 teams.
