Intermediate School families participated in various exciting math games that covered many different topics at the 2nd Annual Family Math Night on March 1. Upon arrival participants were invited to fill a small bag with various math manipulatives to take home as learning supplements. As the evening progressed, guests participated as family groups in various math games. Each grade level participated in three hands-on activities aligned with the common core.
Intermediate School teachers Kristen Lesako and Shelley Burr received a GIVE (Great Ideas from Visionary Educators) Grant from the Chartiers Valley Education Foundation to support Family Math Night. The organizers said the evening was a huge success and that they hope to continue holding the event for years to come.
