This year, Chartiers Valley Intermediate School and the Nutrition Group launched a new program called “Kids Around the Table.”
Students have the opportunity to participate in “Kids Around the Table” where they get to try new chef inspired meals during their lunch every day for two weeks. In addition to expanding their palates, students learn how to set a table as well as proper meal time etiquette and manners.
Kids Around the Table takes place in the Intermediate School cafe and is set up to accommodate family style dining. The students take turns serving as Table Leaders. The Table Leaders bring the food to the table and serve it to their friends.
Mr. Scott Hudak, the Nutrition Chef who created the recipes for the program, often spends time with the participating students during lunch to chat about the different foods they are trying and what they think of everything.
Please complete the sign up form below to grant permission for your student to participate. When you sign up for "Kids Around the Table," your student will be scheduled into a two-week session between now and the end of the school year, based on a first-come first-serve basis. You will be notified of your child's session dates shortly after registering. Students who participate will be charged the standard lunch rate, according to eligibility status (free, reduced or paid).
