Fresh Thyme pledges donations to CVSD schools

The drill team and majorettes performed for employees and some anxious shoppers at Fresh Thyme’s Great Southern Shopping Center grand opening on June 12. Fresh Thyme has designated the High School and Primary School as beneficiaries of the Fresh Thyme Giving Bag program through August in which a portion of the proceeds from sales of recyclable cloth grocery bags will be awarded to the schools.

Act 1 Referendum and Campus Safety

With the rejection of the Act 1 referendum question that appeared on Tuesday’s primary ballot, Chartiers Valley School District would like to ensure the community that the safety and security of our students, teachers, administration, and support personnel was not dependent on the passage of this week’s referendum.

Tickets to watch promenade are now on sale. Students walking in promenade do not need tickets, only those coming to watch. Tickets are $3 and can be purchased on cvticketing.com. Promenade starts at 4:30 pm on June 1 at the High School auditorium.

High School Building Evacuation - May 7, 2018

Dear Parents:

 

Today at approximately 8:50 A.M., the High School Administration was made aware a threat that was written on a bathroom stall.  The Administration immediately evacuated the building and notified law enforcement of this threat. The Collier Township Police Department responded immediately and completed a search of the building and determined that there was no credibility to the threat. The students were cleared to re-enter the building at 9:30 A.M. to resume classes.

 

The District is thankful to the Collier Police Department for their commitment to making Chartiers Valley a safe place.

Throughout the month of May, CVHS Interact Club will be collecting used eyeglasses for families in Uganda. Each year Interact Club participates in multiple service projects that benefit the school and community or promotes international understanding and peace.

Three Middle School wrestlers medal at state competition

Congratulations to wrestlers Josh Sarasnick (5th place, 187 lbs.), Dylan Evans (6th place, 107 lbs), and Christopher Beatty (8th place, 112 lbs.) who earned medals at the Junior High state wrestling tournament March 2-4. The CVMS team took 22nd place overall  out of more than 300 registered teams!

On February 4th, representatives of the IS Life Skills class and their families presented 35 fleece lap blankets that the students made with fabric purchased with Thrivent Action Team seed money to the Unity Presbyterian Church Food Pantry for distribution to elderly and ill family members, and to the Ronald McDonald House.
