Dr. Kerr graduated with a B.S. in Psychology and a M.Ed. in Educational Counseling from the University of Pittsburgh. She earned her Doctorate in Counseling and Supervision in 2007 from Duquesne University where she is also an adjunct professor in the School Counseling department. Additionally, Dr. Kerr holds a certificate as a School Psychologist and an administrative certificate as Supervisor of Guidance.
Dr. Kerr began her career in Chartiers Valley as a long-term substitute during the 1991-1992 school year when the elementary counselor traveled to six district elementary schools serving 1,500 Kindergarten through grade 5 students. She was hired permanently in 1994 and currently serves 800 students in Kindergarten, first and second grade. She was honored as Pennsylvania's Elementary School Counselor of the Year in 2006.
