The School Board voted to accept the resignation of Superintendent Brian White and appointed Assistant Superintendent Mr. Scott Seltzer as Interim Superintendent at the August 8th board meeting.

A Message from the School Board President

Dear Members of the Chartiers Valley Community:

As announced last evening, Dr. Brian White has accepted the Superintendent position with the Butler Area School District. On behalf of the Chartiers Valley Board of School Directors, we want to thank Dr. White for his dedication and leadership over the past seven years. His tireless efforts have taken our district to new heights and he will be missed. We wish him much success in his new leadership role.

A Message from the Superintendent

Dear the Chartiers Valley Community:

On August 2, 2017, I accepted the position of Superintendent for the Butler Area School District.  I am currently working through the details of my transition from Chartiers Valley School District to Butler Area School District.

It has been an honor and a privilege to serve as superintendent of the Chartiers Valley School District for the past seven years. Through the hard work of faculty, staff and principals, the district has made significant academic programmatic changes that have benefited students.

July 25 Board Meeting Recap

Superintendent’s Report

Dr. White discussed enrollment and staffing needs, particularly at the Primary School. The district’s kindergarten enrollment is high, which translates to larger than ideal class sizes. In addition, class sizes for first and second grade are at maximum capacity. Administrators are reviewing options for shifting staff internally to help keep classes at an ideal size. However, if enrollment continues to increase before the start of the year, it’s possible the district may need an additional teacher at the Primary School.

The BookStop is coming!
