July 25 Board Meeting Recap

Superintendent’s Report

Dr. White discussed enrollment and staffing needs, particularly at the Primary School. The district’s kindergarten enrollment is high, which translates to larger than ideal class sizes. In addition, class sizes for first and second grade are at maximum capacity. Administrators are reviewing options for shifting staff internally to help keep classes at an ideal size. However, if enrollment continues to increase before the start of the year, it’s possible the district may need an additional teacher at the Primary School.

Construction Update construction progress_July 2017

While our students and faculty have been on summer break, we have been very busy preparing our schools for the start of the 2017-2018 school year -- particularly at the High School/Middle School campus. Our construction management team is providing frequent updates on the High School/Middle School construction project. We are very happy to report that everything is still on schedule!

CVHS & CVMS Summer Traffic Patterns

We hope your summer vacation is off to a great start! As our students enjoy their time off, construction is in full swing at the High School/Middle School campus. As of Monday, June 5, 2017, the main entrance to the Chartiers Valley High School and Middle School campus will be closed. The main exit of the Chartiers Valley High School and Middle School campus will become two-way giving visitors access to the tennis court parking lot. The rest of campus will be closed to traffic. We expect this modified traffic pattern to remain in place throughout the summer.
